Students can take courses online for credit or audit. Online courses are “asynchronous,” and students can log on any time to access the lesson and participate. Online courses allow students to fit their educational work into their other endeavors, study independently at their own pace. Online courses are taught via tiered video instruction or through the specially designed self-guided “Learning Modules” (LMs). The videos and LMs are organized into individual concepts. Each concept has multiple videos and modules available in line with our Learning Approaches. Students have assigned mentors or facilitators to help them in their studies (coursework, research, case studies, etc.), as well as record their progress in each course taken.
Our learning approaches are focused on three important areas: Assess, Learn, Validate.
In providing training through our online methods, our courses are designed to meet the requirements for standard industry qualifications. Our academic staff continues to research on various online resources (videos, e-books, instructional materials, best practices, etc.) and integrate them into the standard curriculum for certification and accreditation. Our academic team regularly assesses needs, improve skills, reinforce learning and track progress of our students to make sure they possess the required skills and professionalism after completion of the program. Our technical team collaborates and partners with the industry leaders for hands-on training and real-world exposures for our students to prepare them for the workforce.
We assess the core skills requirements of the industry and carefully design the curriculum and learning materials to ensure that students learn the core knowledge, skills, and training for each program they are enrolled. We also identify knowledge gaps and provide innovative approaches to prepare our students for a successful transition from “school to work.”
Our online learning methods use latest innovative approches such as updated curriculum and learning materials that meet today’s rapidly advancing technologies; mentorship through an assigned instructor or facilitator that provides immediate feedback on any coursework; flexible learning where students can access or do their studies anytime, anywhere; integrated approaches where students are provided additional resources to increase their knowlege, as well as any available training programs (video-led instruction) that will keep their learning fluid.
In reinforcing learning and retention, we provide specially designed courseware, online archives, online library, and virtual labs. In preparing our students to become highly qualified in the industry, we provide support and simulated testing to our students to make sure they will succeed in any industry-related certification exams. In preparing our students for the workforce, we provide “on-site” and hands-on training with our industry-partners.
Our online learning programs use an integrated approach to track learning progress, identify areas of weakness, and provide innovative approaches to validate our students’ knowledge and skills. Our online learning validation ensures our students’ knowledge on the subject areas, effective online assessments, and reliability of our online learning systems. Students are required to take the industry-standard assessments of each coursework to ensure their level of understanding. Examinations and other assessments are part of the preparatory work for any certification exams that they make take after completing the program. They can track their progress by viewing their academic records online and review any feedback from their instructors.
Students and industry leaders are encouraged to evaluate our courses and learning materials to help us ensure the quality of our course contents.
Skills Validation: Hands-on experience is critical to reinforce learning. Our students are provided “on-site” training with our partners in the industry to practice what they learned on real equipment and in real environment.
